After the Reds victory against Manchester City in the Community Shield on Saturday, Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has said that the team “Are Ready.”
After receiving the ball from Mohamed Salah, the defender scored Liverpool’s opening goal of the contest by curling a shot into the left side of the goal from the outskirts of the area.
In the second half, Julian Alvarez equalised for City after which Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez then sealed the win for the Reds, who won the trophy for the first time since 2006.
Liverpool played every game possible during the last campaign, winning both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup in along the way.
The post from the defender may suggest that the goal is to repeat last season’s success while also adding a second Premier League title and a seventh Champions League to the trophy collection.
The Reds will play Strasbourg at Anfield on Sunday, July 31 at 7 p.m. GMT to round off their pre-season preparations before facing Fulham at Craven Cottage to open the Premier League season on August 6.
