Liverpool were lucky to secure a last-gasp winner against Newcastle on Wednesday, with manager Jurgen Klopp expressing his frustration with his players’ lack of patience in possession after the match.
The feeling is that they will need to improve on their performance from midweek if they want to win tomorrow’s Merseyside Derby. Everton’s season hasn’t exactly gotten off to a great start, with three draws and two defeats in their first five games, but Liverpool’s injury issues could prove to be a leveller.
Alisson will start in goal on Saturday, with Joe Gomez expected to line up alongside Virgil van Dijk in the centre of defence once again. Kostas Tsimikas could, however, replace Andy Robertson at left-back, with Trent Alexander-Arnold keeping his position on the right flank.
James Milner will probably be called up to the starting lineup in midfield due to Jordan Henderson’s hamstring injury, leaving Fabinho and Harvey Elliott to fill the other two midfield spots.
Darwin Nunez is back from his suspension, but given that Roberto Firmino has scored in the last two games, Klopp may keep faith in him. Luis Diaz and Mo Salah will line up either side of him.
Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Play Everton:
Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Tsimikas, Elliott, Fabinho, Milner, Salah, Firmino, Diaz
