According to reports, Manchester United are getting ready to make Ajax an offer of €40 million youngster Ethan Laird for Antony.

Manchester United have made three new signings to save their transfer window. Tyler Malacia, Christian Eriksen, and Lisandro Martinez are included in this. The Dutch coach, who already has experience with Lisandro, is now seeking to bring in another of his old Ajax protégés.

Since the start of the window, the club has shown an interest in Antony. They have, however, been concentrating on other signings. This also applies to Frenkie De Jong, whose transfer is becoming less likely. Last season, Antony recorded nine assists and 10 goals in all competitions.

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to leave Manchester United in the upcoming weeks, and the team is searching for a replacement. Ajax initially demanded €80 million for the 22-year-old Brazilian, who has also drawn interest from Liverpool

Soccer News claims, however, that the Red Devils are currently putting together a €40 million offer that includes left-back Ethan Laird.

Since Laird is anticipated to be passed over in favor of Tyler Malacia, Alex Telles, and Luke Shaw this season, he is unlikely to see much action on the field.

Manchester United looking to make multiple more signings in the coming weeks

The Red Devils have a serious problem in the midfield. In addition to losing a number of players, they were already in need of a skilled CDM, and their efforts to recruit Frenkie De Jong have stagnated. Given the multiple twists that the De Jong saga has taken, it is uncertain whether the club would be successful.

Nevertheless, Ruben Neves and Youri Tielemans have already been mentioned as potential substitutes. Moving ahead, it appears that Antony was a priority signing even before Cristiano Ronaldo asked to leave the team.

The Brazilian cannot possibly replace the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s goals, but he might be a key signing that allows Marcus Rashford to play more frequently in the striker position. Antony can play on either wing and will complement the pacy forwards United already have because of his versatility.

The team under ten Hag had a strong pre-season start and has made significant progress. To build a team that can compete for trophies as soon as possible, the manager needs support.
