Yeremy Pino has long been linked with Liverpool, and the Spaniard’s name is once more in the spotlight.
The Reds made contact in March in an effort to sign the playmaker from Villarreal but the Yellow Submarine has demanded that the £66.8 million (80 million euro) release clause be activated (El Desmarque) in order to sell their star player.
More recently, Spanish news outlet Fichajes reported that a number of Premier League teams are preparing their respective offers for Pino, with Liverpool and Manchester City showing the most interest.
The youngster is also being pursued by Chelsea and Arsenal, as he’s also on the radar of other European teams.
The 19-year-old can play in a number of attacking positions, but under Unai Emery, he has mainly excelled on the right flank.
The young talent started 21 games in the Spanish La Liga last season and was directly involved in 10 goals (6 goals and 4 assists).
Due to an ankle injury, he was sidelined for the last month of the campaign and was receiving treatment when Liverpool defeated the El Madrigal outfit in the Champions League semi finals.
Luis Enrique gave him the opportunity to play for the senior national team in response to his outstanding performances for Villarreal. He has made four appearances (1 start) for La Roja so far, scoring a goal and providing an assist.
Situation At Anfield
Egyptian superstar, Mohamed Salah, is Liverpool’s first choice for the right flank position at the moment. He is an indispensable member of Klopp’s squad and his performance against Manchester City in the Community Shield was outstanding.
Fortunately, the former Chelsea player has maintained excellent fitness, but the team must be ready. The depth needs to be increased because there is currently no one to cover for the African star on the right wing.
Should Liverpool make a £66.8 million offer to sign Yeremy Pino, What do you think?
