Liverpool have been linked with Spanish international and Real Madrid attacker, Marco Asensio, for a long time and the latest reports are interesting.
The Los Blancos playmaker is in high demand, but AC Milan are unable to match the demands, according to today’s edition of AS (news image given below).
According to the Spanish news source, the European Champions are demanding the sum of 40 million euros (£34.4 million) in order to offload the 26-year-old star.
The Serie A champions can only offer about 30 million euros since they cannot afford to spend that much.
The Rossoneri are seeking to secure a contract worth up to 4.5 million euros per year (about $75,000 per week), but Liverpool is willing to reach an agreement with the Spaniard on a considerably more lucrative offer.
According to the Madrid-based media outlet, the Merseysiders have already made the midfielder an offer for a contract that will pay him £100,000 per week (6 million euros a year).
Paolo Maldini is making every effort to bring Asensio to San Siro, and the Italian giants still have no intention of giving up.
Given that they have already sold Mane and Origi and that an agreement has been reached to sell Minamino, Liverpool does need to increase the caliber and depth of their attack.
Asensio is an excellent winger who can play through the center as well. The La Roja great has three Champions League medals to his name with Real Madrid, but he has never started every game.
