Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano have provided updates on Liverpool’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
The 19-year-old’s future has been the subject of increased speculations in recent weeks, with reports of interest from Liverpool and more recent links to Manchester City and Real Madrid.
In order to understand if a deal this summer was possible, Liverpool reportedly got in touch with people close to the player and the Bundesliga club a few weeks ago, as reported by transfer expert Romano (via LFC Transfer Room).
The response the Anfield leadership received was a categorical “NO”, with Bellingham reported as being “untouchable” this summer.
However, Romano does confirm that Liverpool are really interested in Bellingham and that manager Jurgen Klopp is a great fan of the player.
It isn’t really a surprise that Dortmund are unwilling to part with the young superstar during the same transfer window that they lost Erling Haaland to Manchester City, despite the demands of many Reds supporters to sign a new midfielder this summer.
The story is expected to continue for the next 12 months, and should Bellingham put up an impressive performance at World Cup in Qatar, the list of potential suitors may only increase.
