Liverpool are now preparing for their second Premier League game of the season.
The Reds’ season opener began with a draw against newly promoted Fulham, and on Monday night, they will kick off their home campaign against Crystal Palace.
Liverpool’s first outing of the season was hampered by a lot of injury concerns, and things might not get much better for their next clash.
And there is new buzz about Liverpool entering the market once more to bolster their team, which is starting to look a touch thin in some areas.
Here, we compile the most recent Anfield-related news and rumors:
Klopp’s transfer update
As already mentioned, Liverpool has received repeated advice to return to the market this summer in order to strengthen their squad.
And the midfield in particular, where Thiago Alcantara’s injury leaves Jurgen Klopp shorthanded in the middle of the park.
But the German is still resisting, saying: “I am happy with the strength, size and quality of my squad.
“We have injuries. Now it is the question how long the players will be out and there are different solutions,”
Liverpool did sign Fabio Carvalho to add to their midfield this summer, but the 19-year-old is not yet experienced at the top level.
Matheus Nunes is one player with whom Liverpool has been linked with this summer.
Transfer rumors have been sparked by speculations that the Sporting CP star will be the ideal and perfect fit for Klopp’s midfield.
West Ham United, though, has reportedly indicated interest in the Sporting player, according to fresh reports from Record in Portugal.
In fact, it’s claimed that they submitted an offer totaling approximately £26 million plus more than £4 million in add-ons.
But it’s also known that Sporting is refusing to accept anything less than £43 million.
