Villarreal boss Unai Emery, is still worried that some of his top players might leave before the transfer market shuts at the end of the month.
The former Arsenal manager has already made it clear that Liverpool target Yeremy Pino would be sold if a good offer is made, and he fears the consequences of being robbed of key players:
“What can affect us is that there may be unwanted exit movements. What harms (us) the most is something unforeseen; A significant clause payment or an offer a player considers very attractive.”
Pino has been scouted multiple times by Jurgen Klopp’s side, along with clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea, over the past 12 months as confirmed by reliable journalist, Fabrizio Romano.
However, the 19-year-old’s €80 million (£68 million) release clause is a sizeable sum for a player with his level of inexperience. Even if he were to be offered for less, it’s hard to imagine the Reds spending that much money so late in the transfer window.
If the club intended to strengthen the frontline any further after bringing in Darwin Nunez, they most likely would have started looking for a new player earlier in the summer, although Jurgen Klopp have been credited with a preference for a Leroy Sane move instead.
