Liverpool has issued a strong response to reports that Juventus are interested in signing Brazilian international Roberto Firmino.
The Serie A club has been linked with the 30-year-old recently, with some reports stating that they have made an offer of over €20 million, just as he enters the final year of his contract.
Firmino has however continued to take part in Liverpool’s pre-season program and played the second half in the team’s defeat to RB Salzburg on Wednesday.
However, according to the report, Liverpool has rejected the offer and “put up a wall” to prevent the player from leaving.
It also claims that Juventus might abandon their pursuit of Firmino and focus their attention on other players, including Chelsea’s Timo Werner.
Liverpool would be lacking in attacking positions if they lost their number nine after letting go of Sadio Mane, Divock Origi, and Takumi Minamino this summer.
Manager Jurgen Klopp will definitely not want any further disturbance in terms of outgoings from the core of his squad as the season is set to get underway.
