Arsenal are getting closer to signing Youri Tielemans from Leicester City and this would be the Gunners sixth summer signing as they go on a shopping spree.
Matt Turner, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Viera, Marquinhos, and Matt Turner have all joined the North Londoners.
Mikel Arteta, however, is still not satisfied, as he intends to buy another another midfielder to provide competition for Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey, and Mohamed Elneny. Tielemans have been strongly linked with Arsenal all summer and as a result, it now seems that the 25-year-old is now very close to agreeing a deal with the club.
Ben Jacobs, a journalist for CBS Sports, told GIVEMESPORT that Arsenal have agreed on personal terms with the player, and are eager to complete the signing this summer.
According to Jacobs, who told GIVEMESPORT, “Arsenal have not made an official offer to the club just yet for Youri Tielemans.” They went to the player and reached an agreement on personal terms. They have now gotten the clear confirmation and are very much aware of Tielemans’ desire to transfer to Arsenal.
They seriously intend in signing him in this transfer market. Given that the Belgian only has one year remaining on his contract, the Gunners have gone for him in an effort to reduce Leicester’s asking price.
According to The Express, the Foxes are demanding £30 million for the player. Arsenal would attempt to negotiate a lower asking price once they make a move for him this month. There are presently no indications that Tielemans will extend his contract. Leicester would therefore try to squeeze out whatever possible amount they can. Otherwise, they might lose Tielemans for free next year.
