Liverpool and RB Salzburg recently collided in a friendly match with the Austrian side emerging victors, thanks to a goal from Benjamin Sesko.
According to reports, the Slovenian forward, who was the best player on the field against the Anfield outfit, is someone the Reds are interested in signing.
Seven top teams, including Liverpool, are vying for Sesko’s signature, according to the Spanish source Fichajes.
The performance of the 19-year-old forward, who is valued at 65 million euros (£55 million), reportedly impressed Jurgen Klopp with more than three years remaining on the young sensation’s contract.
High-caliber young goal scorers have a history of being produced by Salzburg. Erling Braut Haaland, Patson Daka, and Karim Adeyemi, who currently play for Manchester City, Leicester City, and Borussia Dortmund, respectively, first rose to fame with the Austrian Bundesliga club.
Sesko played in 36 games in all competitions last season and directly assisted in 17 goals (10 goals and 7 assists).
The former Liefering attacker has made 3 appearances for Matthias Jaissle’s side so far this season, scoring 2 goals and providing an assist in the process.
The striker made his senior national team debut for Slovenia in June last year, and he has since scored twice in 13 matches.
With players like Jota, Firmino, and recent addition Darwin Nunez, Liverpool already has a strong and versatile strike force but Jurgen Klopp sees something in Benjamin Sesko and it would just be a matter of time.
