Liverpool will have representatives in the stands to watch Shakhtar Donetsk face Real Madrid in the Champions League, according to Russian journalist Artur Petrosyan.

The reporter claims that the Reds are “likely” to be keeping tabs on Mykhaylo Mudryk who was the subject of bids from Premier League clubs during the summer transfer window:

Reports in Italy earlier this week suggested that Jurgen Klopp’s side had joined Arsenal in the race for Mudryk and, if Petrosyan is to be believed, it seems they are watching the Ukrainian international very closely.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Shakhtar want at least €50m (£43.7m) for the 21-year-old, which is €20m more than the likes of Everton and Brentford offered last month.

Whether Mudryk is actually worth that much, though, it is up for debate. The winger has had a good start to the campaign in Europe, scoring two goals and providing two assists in two Champions League group matches. However, he has limited first-team experience, having made just 52 appearances at senior level.
