'It's now intense': £43 million star could be securing Liverpool move before transfer deadline— Report

Matheus Nunes has consistently been linked with Liverpool, and the most recent reports indicate that he might decide to sign with the Reds before the summer transfer window closes.

The Merseysiders will make an effort to sign the 23-year-old central midfielder, according to a report from Correio da Manha two days ago.

Coach Ruben Amorim fears that the player might end up leaving for England before the transfer deadline in September going by fresh reports from the renowned Portuguese news source.

In order to strengthen the team, the Lions are now aiming to sign Ricardo Horta, who is valued at £17 million. The Horta of selection is unexpected because the 27-year-old is a natural winger and won’t serve as a direct replacement.

CM Jornal claims that Wolves are the only team to have made an official bid for Nunes, with Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool especially also showing very strong interest while keeping close watch.

It could be that the Anfield outfit are trying to play it safe considering the price tag and the sudden interest from Manchester City.

Although Varandas accepted the offer, the midfielder told the club president that staying put was preferable to joining the Molineux team, who only compete for mid-table positions.

He would much rather play for a Premier League team competing for top titles and playing Champions League football.

Spurs, who haven’t won a trophy in a while, can still offer Champions League football, whilst Man City are the reigning Premier League champions.

While the Sky Blues have added Kalvin Phillips to improve the center of the park, the North London club has already strengthened their midfield by enticing Yves Bissouma.

Should Liverpool who also need to strengthen their midfield sign Matheus Nunes before the deadline?
