RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer is reportedly a target for Liverpool, per reports in the German media.
The Austrian international’s contract expires in less than a year, and if any team is prepared to pay about €30 million (£25 million), then he could be sold before the transfer window shuts.
Other Premier League teams, such as Manchester United and Chelsea, have also been keeping tabs on Laimer, while Bayern Munich has already made a bid for him this summer. However, supporters on Twitter are very much split on whether the Reds should pursue the player, with some questioning his fitness record:
There shouldn’t be much cause for alarm if we look at the injuries Laimer has sustained in recent years. The most severe one was a broken ankle that kept him out of most of the 2020–21 season.
He missed eight games last season due to three relatively minor injuries, which kept him out of action. Although some people are concerned about his availability, his performances for Leipzig certainly indicates that he would be a good addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
