Liverpool defensive midfielder Fabinho has told The Athletic that Luis Diaz will play a bigger role for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the future, suggesting that he is Sadio Mane’s replacement in the team.
The Brazilian international says that Liverpool already has a reliable replacement for Mané in Luis Diaz.
Fabinho has praised the Colombian winger’s performance in the second half of last season after his January transfer window move from FC Porto.
While Mane left Liverpool for Bayern Munich in this current summer transfer window.
Fabinho on Liverpool teammate Luis Diaz
Regarding Diaz, Fabinho told to The Athletic: “For a very long time, Sadio was always on the left side. However, we have Luis (Diaz) on the left side, and his performance in the second half of last season was impressive. Luis will become increasingly important.
Sadio Mane replacement?
Our opinion also concurs with that of Fabinho, and Luis Diaz would be the ideal Sadio Mane successor at Liverpool.
In the second half of the previous season, the Colombian played on the left of a front-three for Liverpool, with Sadio Mane positioned in the middle and Mohamed Salah on the right.
Darwin Nunez will take Mane’s place as the center striker going forward, with Diaz and Salah playing on the wings.
Mane is a world-class player who has won the Premier League and UEFA Champions League with the Reds.
Diaz is not there yet, but it is important to remember that Mane rose to international prominence at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp.
Colombian superstar Diaz might progress similarly to how Mane did at Anfield.
In his 13 Premier League games for Liverpool so far, Diaz has four goals and created two big chances.
