Journalist, Fabrizio Romano claims that Timo Werner ‘regrets’ leaving Liverpool to join Chelsea.
The German player, according to the Italian reporter, has been made available for transfer, but things might have gone differently if he had decided to come to Anfield instead:
“Werner is a high-level player in my opinion, but he needs a different playing style to shine; as a result, I feel a move to Liverpool instead could have helped him fulfil his potential.”
Others might still be tempted to sign the striker even now, while the majority of supporters on Twitter just believe that he isn’t good enough:
Currently, it appears like he will return to his former club, RB Leipzig, on loan, while it has been rumored that Juventus may possibly consider making a bid for him.
Although many believes Chelsea’s willingness to pay the player £272,000 per week had something to do with why Liverpool failed to sign him, Fabrizio Romano claims it was as a result of the Reds’ slow speed in negotiations. Whatever the case may be, it appears very unlikely that he will end up moving to Merseyside.
