Arsenal transfer target Gabriel Jesus has revealed that his future at Manchester City remains in doubt.
The Brazilian international has had a strong season at the Etihad Stadium, scoring 13 goals and assisting 12 in all competitions. However, he has been in and out of Pep Guardiola’s starting lineup, and Erling Haaland’s arrival at City signifies a fresh start for Jesus.
According to Sports Deputy, Arsenal are interested in signing the 25-year-old this summer, while Tottenham Hotspur also adore him. Last week, we reported that Arsenal technical director Edu has recently met with the player’s agent, but the former Palmeiras striker has been tight-lipped about his ambitions for next season.
“It’s still questionable about my future,” Jesus told ESPN Brazil. “I have a contract with City and have already stated my desire to City officials as well as my agent.
“What I desire is crystal clear in my mind. I want to have a big party with City today.
“It’s clear that I’m content here. Helena [his daughter] will be born tomorrow if all goes well for me, my wife, and our family.
“As a result, I must seize this opportunity. Then consider the squad and smile at them once more.
“I will also make decisions regarding my future while on vacation.”
Jesus’ preference is to continue in the Premier League, according to Brazilian publication Globo, with Arsenal being his’most likely’ destination. Spurs, on the other hand, pipped Arsenal to fourth place in the Premier League, meaning the Gunners will miss out on UEFA Champions League action next season, which might make it more difficult to sign players in the summer transfer window.
