Gabriel Jesus agent hands Arsenal huge transfer boost and confirms striker's Premier League plan

After commenting on Gabriel Jesus’ future, his agent has given Arsenal a big boost in their pursuit of the Manchester City striker.

With the futures of both Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette still uncertain, Sports Deputy knows that Jesus is one name on the Gunners’ wishlist to add to their attacking ranks. Over the last few months, Arsenal’s technical director Edu has spoken with the player’s agent, Marcelo Pettinati, confirming that the Brazilian ‘likes the vision’ at the Emirates.

Jesus is set to leave City for a fee in the range of £35 million with the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland this summer. According to Jesus’ agent, the Brazilian wants to stay in the Premier League, putting the Gunners in pole position to sign the 25-year-old this summer.

Arsenal are in need of attacking reinforcements for next season, and qualifying for the Champions League could be vital in their pursuit of Gabriel Jesus. According to his agent, the Brazilian striker is ready to turn down European interest in order to stay in the English Premier League.

After announcing the arrival of Haaland this summer, City are expected to let Jesus to leave this summer, with the Brazilian also having one year remaining on his contract and refusing to discuss a new deal. Arteta worked with Jesus as an assistant to Pep Guardiola between 2016 and 2019, and the Brazilian international might be reunited with him this summer.

The 25-year-old joined City in 2017 and has a remarkable 58 goals in 157 Premier League games for Guardiola’s team. The Brazilian’s attacking versatility would fit the Gunners’ free-flowing system, but the chance to play as a regular centre-forward could also influence Jesus’ decision ahead of the 2022/23 season.
