According to the Italian outlet CMW, Arsenal is considering making Juventus a straight-swap offer for French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, with Hector Bellerin going the other way. At Real Betis, Bellerin spent the last season on loan.
Since joining the Old Lady in 2019, Rabiot, a seven-time league champion (six with PSG and one with Juve), has been a mainstay. He has played 129 times over three seasons. Rabiot’s contract, however, is about to enter its final year.
He reportedly requested to leave Juventus, and Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle are reportedly interested in the star, who is valued at $13 million. Arsenal are now thinking about making a move to sign the lofty midfielder.
Bellerin’s contract is also about to expire, although he hasn’t yet signed a long-term agreement with Betis. According to earlier reports, Juventus does like the looks of Bellerin, who is still only 27 years old like Rabiot.
Now, CMW says that Arsenal are considering a straight deal. They claim that despite signing Fabio Vieira, Arsenal has previously approached Rabiot about a transfer. The Gunners are still looking for a midfielder.
ARSENAL WEIGHING UP STRAIGHT-SWAP OFFER: RABIOT WITH BELLERIN
Of course, Vieira is a midfielder who prefers to attack. Rabiot is the best option for Arsenal, who definitely need another defensive midfielder. Incredibly experienced, a winning mindset, terrific in the air, but a stunning array of passing – he is fantastic.
If Juventus are interested in Bellerin, a swap makes sense while he is still reasonably priced. The Arsenal defender’s future at the Emirates is uncertain, so if they can persuade Juventus to accept a straight deal, they will be able to save some money.
