Adrian, Carvalho and Firmino to start, Nunez on the bench: Liverpool’s predicted XI to play Manchester City

Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher won’t be available for Liverpool’s Community Shield match against Manchester City.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will have to choose Adrian in goal because both the starting and backup goalkeepers are going into the game at the King Power Stadium with injuries.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are expected to play the two fullback positions in defence, with Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk perhaps starting in the centre of the defence.

Fabio Carvalho may start in place of Thiago in the middle of the field as Klopp tries to gauge the youngster’s performance against elite competition. Jordan Henderson and Fabinho could provide the protection and experience needed for the Portuguese talent to succeed.

Darwin Nunez, a new addition to the front line, may have to be content with a spot on the bench, with Roberto Firmino being selected as the number nine, and Mo Salah and Luis Diaz playing on either side of him.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Manchester City:

Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Carvalho, Salah, Firmino, Diaz
